30 years Derby Auction: We are looking forward to the anniversary event!
At the 1st Derby Auction in 1991, despite all the optimism, we did not expect it to develop into such a successful story. Through three decades of ups and downs in trotting, our auction following the Mare Derby, on the eve of the stallions’ Derby finals, has become firmly established. This is only possible if it fits for all sides: For buyers and sellers, the Berlin Trabrenn-Verein and all the other active participants, because, among other things, many of them naturally profit from the “total package” of the Derby auction due to the highly endowed auction races.
The “heart” has always been an auction lot of yearlings, which arouses high national and international desires. Mares from the best dam lines, paired with the latest stallions, raised in highly successful breeding facilities, ensured top trotting horses.
Of course we are especially proud of the Derby winners who, two years after changing owners in front of Endell’s grandstand, won Germany’s most important three-year-old race. Lotis Photo (2007), Lobell Countess (2011), Tiger Woods As (2013), Expo Express (2014) and Ferrari Kievitshof (2015) won the battle for the Blue Ribbon. Many other exceptional trotters such as Freiherr As, the second richest German trotter of all times, Zerberus, who won more than half a million Euros, Indira Bo, winner of the Mare Derby 2015 and the Breeders Crown 2014 as well as Orlando Jet, trotter of the year 2016 and 2019, started their careers exactly there, where on Setpember 19th, 2020, approx. 80 yearlings will again be presented and knocked down in the auction ring.
The preparations for the Derby Auction are in full swing and of course we are doing everything to make this anniversary something very special!
